TMD Treatment
A large portion of the general population suffers from TMD symptoms. TMD is a complex condition involving the nerves, jaw joints, facial muscles, and is connected with the body alignment. Alteration in the physical structures and their physical position affect the function of the entire masticatory system. Over time, dysfunction can produce symptoms such as headaches, ringing in the ears, ear congestion, vertigo, face pain, clenching, grinding, clicking or popping jaw, or lock jaw. Due to its complexity and multi-disciplinary involvement of systems and structures, TMD, tempromandibular disorder often goes undiagnosed. Once it is diagnosed, the treatment includes medications, joint injections, massage therapy, Botox, and oral appliances.
